Professor Bart Currie is an infectious diseases and public health physician at Royal Darwin Hospital and Professor in Medicine at the Northern Territory Medical Program. He leads the Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases team at Menzies School of Health Research. Previous roles include, Director of Rheumatic Heart Disease Australia, Director of HOT NORTH (NHMRC-funded Improving Health Outcomes across Northern Australia Program). He has also been a fundamental member of various committees such as the National COVID-19 Health and Research Advisory Committee (NCHRAC), the Technical Reference Group for the Australian Government’s Regional Health Security Initiative, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the NHMRC CRE CREID and Chair of the Expert Reference Panel of the NHMRC CRE APPRISE. He began both the Darwin Prospective Melioidosis Study and the Darwin Prospective Snakebite Study 35 years ago. He likes to think of his mojo as coordinating links between clinicians, public health colleagues and other service providers, laboratory scientists and community.

Dr Bo Remenyi Paediatric Cardiologist, Royal Darwin Hospital and Menzies School of Health Research Dr Bo Remenyi is a paediatric cardiologist based in Darwin. She is an internationally-recognised expert in the rheumatic heart disease field and tackling the Northern Territory’s rate of Rheumatic Heart Disease, which is one of the highest in the world. Bo is a senior staff specialist at the Royal Darwin Hospital of the Northern Territory of Australia and services many remote Indigenous communities in the region. She is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Menzies School of Health Research where she obtained her PhD. Her research and clinical interests lie in equitable service delivery, echocardiographic screening and early diagnosis of RHD. Her ground-breaking PhD research has been published in top tier journals Lancet and Nature Reviews Cardiology, and has seen her assist the American Heart Association and work with the World Heart Federation for global public health projects. In 2018, Bo was the named the NT Australian of the Year and is currently a member of the National Australia Day Council Board.

Adjunct Professor Christine Connors OAM MBBS MPH FAFPHM Chief Health Officer for the Northern Territory Adjunct Professor Christine Connors is an experienced public health physician, general practitioner, researcher and health service executive with more than 35 years' experience working in health care in the Northern Territory. Christine is now the Chief Health Officer for NT. Her field of expertise has been health system improvement to improve population health outcomes. This has included integration of health care delivery between remote primary health care services and hospitals, clinical guideline development, education and training, audit and quality improvement and revision of models of care. Christine was nominated by Health Ministers as a member of the National Preventative Health Taskforce 2008-2009 which produced the National Preventative Health Strategy in September 2009. She has also been actively involved in research translation with Menzies School of Health Research, with a focus on reducing skin infections, Diabetes detection and control and quality improvement in primary care.

Her research focuses on understanding and optimising care for viral infections with a focus on First Nations peoples in the Northern Territory of Australia. She leads work around Hepatitis B & C, Influenza and COVID-19 as well as working clinically as an Infectious Diseases and General medicine Physician at the Royal Darwin Hospital.

Dr James Dowler is a General Paediatrician based in Alice Springs and Head of the ASH Paediatric Department, since 2019. During his time in Alice Springs, he has explored and experienced many healthcare services, capacity and delivery challenges across Central Australia. When he initially arrived in Alice Springs his interest was in developmental medicine and has subsequently opened up an autism clinic and founded a foetal alcohol spectrum disorder clinic. He currently lives and works in Alice Springs with his young family.

Professor Subash Shanthakumar Heraganahally Director and Head of the Respiratory and Sleep service, Royal Darwin Hospital Professor Subash Shanthakumar Heraganahally is also a faculty at the Flinders and Charles Darwin University, Darwin, Northern Territory. He has published over 90 peer reviewed papers addressing respiratory and sleep health issues amongst adult Indigenous Australians. He is a senior member of Sleep health, Indigenous working group (Australasian Sleep Association and Sleep Health Foundation) and Australasian Bronchiectasis Consortium (Lung Foundation Australia). He is the recipient of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand research excellence award - The Robert Pierce Grant-In-Aid for Indigenous lung Health in 2023 and Lung Foundation Australia, David Serisier Memorial Award for Translational Research in Bronchiectasis in 2024.

He is also a Clinical Fellow with the Menzies School of Health Research and an Associate Professor with the Flinders University Northern Territory Medical Program. His research interests include Indigenous Health, the epidemiology of renal, infectious, and cardiovascular diseases, access to transplantation and clinical trials to improve the evidence base for treatment of renal and cardiovascular disease.

Dr Ju Ann Tan Senior Staff Specialist in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology/Allergy, Royal Darwin Hospital and Palmerston Regional Hospital Dr Ju Ann Tan is a Senior Staff Specialist in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology/Allergy at Royal Darwin and Palmerston Regional Hospitals and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Tan completed an MSc in Experimental Medicine through the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (Canada) in 2017. She is currently the Clinical Lead for Immunology at RDH providing specialist care to patients with autoimmune, atopic and immunodeficiency disorders. Her clinical and research interests are in vasculitis, systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases, allergy and adult immunodeficiency syndromes.

Dr Wood works within the Diabetes Across the Lifecourse Partnership at Menzies, and leads the PANDORA study. She also leads the weight management service in the NT with expertise in cardiometabolic health. She has recently begun advocating on environmental issues due to concerns about the expansion of the gas industry in the Northern Territory (NT) - despite the known risks to health and the climate. She is using her knowledge and expertise as a doctor to raise awareness about the direct health impacts of fossil fuel projects on children and their families within the NT.
